Hello Amazing Fellow Educators! I´m Danicka. I graduated with a teaching specialization in French as an Additional Language from the University of Toronto in June 2022. I am currently an IB French Teacher for the Middle Years and Diploma Programs. I bring extensive experience in teaching French to diverse learners. My resources aim to make students´ learning of the French and Spanish languages authentic and fun, emphasizing the essential skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

This long lesson can be broken down into several smaller lessons. Many interactive activities are used to aim to increase students’ intercultural awareness by teaching them about francophone communities in Québec through using interactive, authentic sources where they will be able to “visit” a child(ren) around their age living in Québec and compare their hobbies and city/town with those of the child(ren) they visited. Materials ● Class laptops ● Headphones ● Google/Word document (or lined paper if students prefer to write on a physical doc) ● French/English dictionary (either online or hard copy) ● Chart paper ● Markers A detailed lesson plan is also provided on the PowerPoint presentation.

Les activités permettront aux élèves en première année immersion d’apprendre plus à propos du thème du printemps tout en développant leurs habiletés de lecture. The activities will allow students in first grade French immersion to learn about the theme of Spring while developing their reading skills. This is aligned with the 2013 Ontario French Immersion curriculum.
